Á. We recommend that before assembling and installing the "Iasos" wind turbine, even more so before using it, that you carefully study everything mentioned in the manual which is inside the packaging of the wind turbine. The "Iasos" wind turbine is allowed to operate in areas with wind conditions up to Class III. The "Iasos" wind turbine is only allowed to operate outdoors. Strictly follow the safety rules. Strictly apply the national safety rules and corresponding Laws. B. The "Iasos" wind turbine is a high-tech machine, built to operate, without special care, for many years, under difficult environmental conditions. Not only can the wind turbine survive harsh weather conditions, but even during these severe weather events it can operate and generate electricity without a problem. C. The "Iasos" wind turbine requires minimal maintenance, for which no specialized knowledge is needed. Follow closely what is mentioned in the corresponding chapter of this manual. The wind turbine can operate automatically for many years without needing any special or significant care from you. D. The "Iasos" wind turbine rarely fails and almost always the failures are due to external factors and not to any failure of the wind turbine components. E. The wind almost never has a constant speed, nor a constant duration. This means that the amount of electricity produced by any wind turbine is almost never constant, per unit of time. There are also significant periods of time when there are no winds. Therefore, in order to have electricity available whenever you need it, the electricity produced must be stored. This is why, for most wind turbine users, the use of batteries is essential. The choice of batteries is made by the buyer. The company "Iasos" does not provide batteries. We recommend OPzV type batteries. Ask the seller of the batteries for the corresponding guarantees. F. To use the electricity stored in the batteries, you need an "inverter". The choice of "inverter" is made by the buyer. The company "Iasos" does not provide an "inverter". Ask the seller of the "inverter" for the corresponding guarantees. Provided that the wind turbine has been anchored at the final installation point, in accordance with what is stated in this document, then the following generally apply: 1. The "Iasos" wind turbine starts generating electricity at very low wind speeds. This means that electricity is present, in every electrical circuit, almost constantly. 2. The "Iasos" wind turbine does not produce noise or vibrations. If immediately after the installation of the wind turbine some noise is produced, you are simply looking for a mistake during assembly. If there is any noise in the future, check if small objects (such as branches) have entered the turbine area. If at any time you notice even the slightest wobble, check the top axle clearance adjustment. If, during assembly, the upper shaft clearance is adjusted correctly, small oscillations in the turbine will never be observed. 3. The "Iasos" wind turbine can survive even in hurricane conditions (maximum wind speed 160 Km/h). The prototype "Iasos" wind turbine has been tested three times in hurricane conditions. The static study, on the basis of which the wind turbine is built, takes into account a maximum wind load of 18.199 N. 4. According to the static study, the "Iasos" wind turbine can accept a snow load of 2 KN/m2. The central pulley, on which the turbine blades rest, can accept a maximum snow load of 186 Kg. The roof of the wind turbine can accept a total load of 190 Kg. When it snows it is possible for snow to accumulate inside the turbine. This may be preventing the turbine from turning. Then someone, after first activating the handbrake, will have to intervene and remove the snow. This will free the turbine and allow it to spin to generate electricity. When removing snow from the turbine chamber, special care is needed not to damage the turbine blades and to distort the lower and base pulley of the turbine. 5. The operation of the "Iasos" wind turbine is not affected by rain. When designing the wind turbine, we made no effort to exclude rainwater, because in practice, even in the short term, such a thing is impossible. On the contrary, the design of the wind turbine takes into account the presence of water and the wind turbine "lives" with it. There is only one surface in the entire structure that must be sealed to prevent rainwater from wetting the electronic equipment below that surface. The equipment that must be protected from water is: - "Charger controller". - "Generator". - "Gear box". All components of the wind turbine are manufactured so that they do not rust. 6. The "Iasos" wind turbine is not affected by dust. In this regard, it needs the same care as a passenger car. If it doesn't bother you aesthetically, you can leave it dusty. 7. The wind turbine, as delivered from our factory, does not have lightning protection. Each country has different regulations on this matter. You must take care of lightning protection and grounding yourself, in cooperation with a specialist engineer in your area. 8. Whenever you want to do some work, approaching the turbine, you must have the handbrake enabled (tight). The turbine may spin slowly, but it has enough power to injure anyone. The turbine is 2.5 m above the ground so small children cannot reach it. 9. Avoid using the electric brake unless absolutely necessary. The electric brake causes mechanical stress (shock) in the transmission mechanisms. Frequent use of the electric brake will cause wear on the gears of the gear box. 10. Never attempt to stop the turbine from rotating using any means other than the wind turbine's braking equipment. Do not use levers or branches and especially your hands to zero or reduce the speed of rotation of the turbine. You will probably get injured. The wind turbine has several independent and effective braking mechanisms. If at any time, for whatever reason, you feel that the turbine is spinning too fast, don't panic. The turbine can reach high rotational speeds without being damaged. In order for the turbine to develop a high rotation speed, the batteries must be fully charged and the "dumb load" must be disabled. If you often encounter this phenomenon, because you probably do not consume a significant part of the generated electricity or because you use small capacity batteries, equip the wind turbine with the "extra load controller". This electronic device enables you to channel excess electricity to a external load, for example outdoor lighting, water heating elements, etc. 11. The small round room formed at the base of the wind turbine is not watertight, and its masonry is not a barrier to someone trying to break in. The masonry of this area exists only for aerodynamic reasons and not to prevent any looting. |
