The wind turbine «Greek spirit» is characterized by extremely high sensitivity in low speed winds. Built to deliver the maximum power at low speed winds.
For this reason need multiple systems for protection the wind turbine from strong winds.
Each wind turbine «Greek spirit», in addition to other security systems available, using two independent electronic controllers who continuously monitor the output voltage and when it exceeds a predetermined threshold automatically activate two separate brake systems to force the turbine stop to rotate.
The first controller activates an electromagnetic arm that activates the brake disk type.
The second controller activates a relay that shorts the terminals of the generator, thus forcing the turbine to stop rotating.
The specific electronic controllers are constructed in a way that can be used in many other applications.

VOLTAGE CONTROLLER - WIND GENERATOR
Connect the electrical contacts:
a. The controller with an electric 12 DCV (contacts: controller power).
b. The device which depends from the controller (electrical arm or shorting relay) (contacts: COM and NO)
c. The power source voltage which monitors the controller (contacts: voltage + -), as shown in the schematic diagram above. The display will show the voltage directly supervised source.
Program the device as follows:
First set of values. Upper limit of the detected voltage.
Briefly press the "SET" and the display will start to flash.
Press "ENTER" repeatedly to set the upper limit of the detected voltage.
Second set of values. Lower limit of the detected voltage.
Press "SET" three times to go to the regulatory regime of the lower limit of the detected voltage. Using the "ENTER" button set the desired size of the lower voltage limit.
Third set of values. Adjusting variance.
Briefly press the "SET" to set the limit of variation of prices regulated. From the factory the relevant setting is 0 (zero) means that there may be a change from 0 to 0,5 Volt.
Fourth set of values. Set duration active screen.
Press "SET" to set how many minutes will delay the shutdown screen. The indication dL0 means the screen is permanently bright and dL9 means that the display goes off in 9 (nine) seconds. Use the "ENTER" button to adjust the relative value.
When finished, press the "SET" and the display will stop flashing. This means that the controller has left, from setting function. The display now shows the current trend detection.
Setting the time delay activation.
When the controller activates the built-in relay, briefly press the "ENTER" button to set the time delay from 0 to 999 seconds. The little dot of decimal digits will start flashing. When the controller disables the built-in relay, press again the "ENTER" button to set the corresponding time lag. Holding down the button "SET" for three seconds, you can reset the values time delay.
The upper and lower limit of the activation voltage must be adjusted so as to differ by at least 1 volt, otherwise the relay opens and closes too frequently and unnecessarily.
By default the controller is configured, when a voltage is higher than the threshold, the bridge of contacts to be close and when it detects voltage less than the threshold, the bridge of contacts to be open. If for some reason required reversal of this process, holding down the button "SET" for three seconds, and the bridge will be closed when the sensed voltage is less than the lower limit and opens when the sensed voltage is greater than the upper limit.
The contacts INPUT + -, used for independent operation of the relay from controller. Applying in these contacts a voltage 5 ~ 16 DCV, the bridge contacts of the relay closes and remains closed for as long as this voltage is applied to the terminals. When voltage stop to applied, then automatically controller take back the control of the relay.
Note: All connections to the terminals of the controller should be done very carefully, otherwise the measurements of voltage, from the controller will not be correct.
